Uganda’s tourism industry recently took the spotlight at the just concluded Belgium Travel Expo 2025 (BTExpo), held from November 17 to 18 in Nivelles and Ghent.
The Uganda Embassy in Brussels, in partnership with the Uganda Tourism Board (UTB), led a dedicated delegation to present the country’s breathtaking landscapes, diverse wildlife, and rich cultural heritage to Belgian and European travel professionals who took part in the Expo.
Now in its 21st year, the BTExpo is a professional fair that drew more than 1,000 attendees and over 100 exhibitors from across the global travel and tourism sector.
In a statement, Ugandan authorities said that the country’s participation this year marked a key step in strengthening its tourism presence in the BENELUX region—Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg, which are key source markets.
The Uganda booth attracted steady interest from visitors seeking information on the country’s world-famous gorilla encounters, pristine national parks, and vibrant cultural festivals.
Exhibitors also highlighted Uganda’s growing eco-tourism and sustainable travel offerings, reflecting wider shifts in international tourism trends.
Officials emphasized that Uganda’s participation underscores the nation’s commitment to celebrating its heritage while advancing sustainable tourism that supports local communities and enhances the country’s visibility abroad.
