Kampala, Uganda – The 8th Edition of the Pearl of Africa Tourism Expo 2024 saw a vibrant showcase of Ugandan culture this year, with Pilsner and Uganda Waragi brands leading the charge.
Held at the Speke Resort Munyonyo from May 23-25, the expo drew hundreds of visitors from around the world eager to experience Uganda’s diverse heritage.
Pilsner and Uganda Waragi jointly set up the first ever cultural village which was arranged in thematic clusters and became a focal point of the Expo.

Pilsner and Uganda Waragi’s pavilion was a standout, offering attendees a taste of traditional Ugandan hospitality and remained a hub of activity, embodying the spirit of Ugandan culture and hospitality.
According to Edgar Kihumuro, the Brand Manager of Pilsner Lager said that they intend to showcase Uganda as an ideal culture and tourism destination through this expo and also celebrate culture.
“The primary goal of the first-ever Cultural Village at the Pearl of Africa Tourism Expo is to celebrate culture in an organized manner and also showcase what Uganda has to offer to the world. As the essence of our beverages is deeply intertwined with Ugandan culture, we are excited to share this with the world at this year’s Pearl of Africa Tourism Expo,” said Kihumuro the Brand Manager Pilsner lager.

The people in the arts and crafts cluster demonstrated traditional skills in weaving and pottery, while the music and dance cluster resonated with the sounds of Engalabi drums and Adungu melodies.
Dance troupes performed traditional dances, inviting visitors to join in and learn the steps.
A one Cortina Rosemary Akot the team leader Northern Uganda Tourism Cluster thanked Pilsner and Uganda Waragi for setting up the first ever Cultural village and always supporting culture.
“I am really excited about this year’s Pearl of Africa Tourism Expo because, for the first time ever, Pilsner Lager and Uganda Waragi have set up a Cultural Village where tourists can come and experience all the different regional clusters in one organized place. This is the first of its kind, and we are thrilled about it. Thank you to the UBL team, and let’s continue to keep the culture alive through this partnership”.

The event not only promoted tourism but also celebrated the rich cultural tapestry that makes Uganda the Pearl of Africa.
