When the Africa Tourism Board USA opened its doors on January 6, Kenya-based Beyond the Plains Safaris will be the first private company to join. At the same time, the Uganda Tourism Board will be represented in the United States in this Africa-wide marketing and PR opportunity.
The idea is to combine resources and costs to reach the potential and high-spending US tourism market beyond their key cities.
Ms. Lilly Ajarova, the CEO of the Uganda Tourism Board, joined the African Tourism Board USA as the first national tourism board partner.
Uganda Tourism Board is now represented by the Dallas-based group under the Umbrella of Africa Tourism Marketing USA.
African Tourism Marketing Corporation in Hawaii founded the African Tourism Board in 2017, which is now based and operating independently in Eswatini.
After seven years, the African Tourism Marketing Corporation is opening the African Tourism Board USA as a representation office today.
TB USA is now part of the New York-based Travel Marketing Network, which includes the Travel News Group with its publications such as eTurbo News and Aviation, and many syndicated partners around the globe, such as media, PR agencies, consultants, and tourism celebrities.
Juergen Steinmetz, founder of the 2017-launched African Tourism Marketing Corporation and CEO of the Travel News Group, congratulated Lilly Ajarova on this crucial step and on leading the launch of the African Tourism Board USA PR and Marketing Office in the U.S. as its first destination.
At the same time, Beyond the Plains Kenya Safaris, Nairobi, Kenya, was approved as a trusted partner and joined the African Tourism Board’s first private stakeholder to be represented in the USA for lead generation, marketing, and PR.

John Dante, owner of Beyond the Plains Kenya Safaris, said: The formation of the African Tourism Board USA representation was sealed in November at the World Travel Market in London.
ATB Chairman Cuthbert Ncube of the African Tourism Board Eswatini-based headquarters and African Tourism Marketing Corporation USA CEO Juergen Steinmetz shook hands to seal the launch of African Tourism Board Marketing USA on January 6, 2025.
African-based national, regional, or park tourism boards can now collaborate with stakeholders such as hotels, tour operators, airlines, attractions, transportation companies, and tour guides to expand their outreach to the potential US and Canadian outbound market for Africa.
CEO Juergen Steinmetz said, “After almost 8 years in business, the African Tourism Board has built the base for countries and private stakeholders to work together and make Africa the destination of choice for the American Visitor”.
African Tourism Board USA is only interested in tourism promotion and is not getting involved in politics.
“We invite tourism boards, and stakeholders ready to reach American travelers to join us. Stakeholders can include tour operators, safari operators, hotels, lodges, transportation companies, airlines, cruise lines, meeting and convention facilities, tour guides, and even restaurants and taxi operators. Let’s do it together – better and more cost-effective”
Activities include media outreach, trade shows, road shows, PR activities, lead generation, and more.
The monthly cost varies between $250 to $6000 depending on the size of the joining company or tourism board. It depends on activities, frequency of activities, and outreach.
Before a private company can join, it has to be certified as a trusted partner by the African Tourism Board.
Tourism boards joining the African Tourism Board initiatives in the USA and already have their representation in the United States can easily keep their outreach and add and coordinate activities by ATB to expand their reach tremendously.
