RwandAir, one of Africa’s leading carriers, has announced a strategic partnership with the organizers of Accra Weizo, West Africa’s premier travel exposition, as part of its continued commitment to strengthening travel and tourism across the continent.
The collaboration will see RwandAir participate in the 8th edition of Accra Weizo, scheduled for June 27, 2025, in Ghana. The expo, organized by Akwaaba African Travel Market since 2015, focuses on promoting seamless travel throughout West Africa and has become a cornerstone event for the region’s tourism industry.
The partnership represents the ongoing dedication to connecting Africa and making travel more accessible across our continent by RwandAir.
The airline’s participation aligns with the expo’s mission to facilitate smoother travel experiences within West Africa.
RwandAir has maintained a strong presence in Ghana since July 2013, operating three weekly flights to Accra on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays using Boeing 737 aircraft. The Accra route serves as a crucial link in the airline’s expanding network, connecting Ghanaian travelers to destinations across Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia through RwandAir’s main hub at Kigali International Airport.
The airline’s commitment to West African connectivity extends beyond direct flights. RwandAir has established a collaborative partnership with Africa World Airlines, a Ghana-based carrier, to enhance regional connectivity and provide passengers with more travel options within West Africa.
RwandAir’s global reach has been significantly enhanced through its strategic partnership with Qatar Airways, offering passengers seamless connections to international destinations.
This alliance complements the airline’s own network expansion strategy, positioning RwandAir as a key player in both regional and intercontinental travel.
The upcoming Accra Weizo expo will feature a Tour Operators Forum, bringing together industry professionals from across West Africa. The event is organized in partnership with the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) and the Ghana Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC), highlighting the collaborative approach needed to develop Africa’s tourism sector.
This partnership with Accra Weizo underscores RwandAir’s role in promoting not just air connectivity, but the broader tourism ecosystem that drives economic growth across the continent. As Africa’s travel industry continues to recover and expand, such collaborations between airlines and tourism organizations are becoming increasingly vital for sustainable development.
The 8th edition of Accra Weizo is expected to attract tourism stakeholders from across West Africa, providing a platform for networking, business development, and the promotion of intra-African travel.
